Dave Lynam
Biography

DJ Career

Dave can be found behind the decks most weekends in a number of London’s bars and clubs playing deep & soulful House. With five years of DJ experience behind him, and many more as a house music lover, he is now regarded as a well respected up and coming young DJ.

Dave’s career began like most, playing in local bars and clubs. He soon began to build up a small following, which to this day still come to ‘represent’ wherever and whenever he plays. Within a couple of years, he had become a known face in the local club circuit.

It was only by chance that Dave got a break in London’s West end. Through a friend of a friend, he was invited to play in the second room at Propaganda. Dave’s set impressed the club’s management so much, he was invited back as one of the monthly residents at the end of the night. That also led to him holding his own nights with a group of friends in the clubs main room and featuring in the clubs plans for their New Years Eve party. As the nights got better, they started to take the events to other clubs. Sub Logic, Aquarium, and The Glasshouse all became venues for some of these legendary parties.

In the summer of 2001, Dave spent four months Djing in Corfu, Greece. This gave him invaluable experience in learning how to work a crowd with certain tracks, and of course helped him to perfect his mixing technique, playing 7 days a week!

By the middle of 2002, Dave decided to take a step back from promoting the nights to concentrate on Djing. Looking back, it was quite possibly the wisest decision he’s made in his career, as things really started to take off from this point. Within months the diary was packed with dates all over London, a couple of gigs in Germany and the icing on the cake was playing ‘The Lab’ at Garage City at the end of the year. It was particularly special to play there as going to this night as a clubber is what inspired Dave to play House music in the first place!

From there things have just gone from strength to strength. He has now been booked & re booked by high profile house nights such as SoundsHeavenly, Kinkymalinki, City Loud and clubs such as SE One, Rouge and even Ministry Of Sound. He also has a Thursday night residency at Mezzo in London. Dave has returned to play The Lab at Garage City a few times since and will play at the final one when Garage City closes its doors at Bar Rumba in September.
