As site editor for JJazproJect, Dean is heavily involved in the day to day operation of the magazine. Between writing reviews, arranging interviews and uploading new material, he is kept busy almost constantly.
He started DJing in 1989/90 at the now defunct CLUBHOUSE in Falkirk . One of his friends was resident and he used to warm up for him on Friday nights. In 1990 he moved to the USA and stayed in Tampa , FL for a year. While there he blagged a job on a local radio station and had his own show playing the sort of dance music that was huge in Europe at the time, though not so well known in that part of the USA.
On his return to the UK in 1991, the DJing continued at local venues in and around Falkirk , playing predominantly US Garage. In 1996 he then moved to work at the busiest venue in the area, BTW working along with the venue's two other residents for four years before retiring in 2000 to concentrate on sleeping.
2003 has seen a comeback of sorts, with Dean making several brief guest appearances, road testing many of the records reviewed on this site. Look out for more regular public appearances in 2004.
